Who we are
Hingham Democratic Town Committee
The Hingham DTC comprises a group of active members who:

-
foster and advance the ideals and aims of the Democratic Party
-
work and organize for the success of the Democratic candidates of the District, County, State and Nation
-
do all things necessary and incidental to build and strengthen the Democratic party in Massachusetts and within Hingham.

Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome all who are interested in promoting the values of the Democratic Party.
Our Values
As Massachusetts Democrats, we believe that:

-
every person has the right to live a full, meaningful life with equal access to opportunity, security, and inclusion
-
our government exists to empower people by providing high-quality public education, ensuring universal access to healthcare, protecting our environment, reducing income inequality, and guaranteeing equal rights and opportunity for all
-
when we empower people to organize their local communities, we can change our Commonwealth and our country for the better.

Get Involved
Hingham DTC meets throughout the year and participates in Democratic Party activities at the Local, State, and Federal levels to build political awareness, strengthen the party, protect elections, support Democratic candidates and serve local communities.

Work to strengthen the Party and protect elections
As the official Democratic Party entity in our community we are responsible for holding the caucuses that elect Hingham’s representatives to the annual Democratic Party State Conventions.
Delegates to the State Conventions support their chosen candidates for state offices, vote on the party platform and set issue priorities for the party to pursue.
We connect candidates to resources and volunteers.

Visit Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to learn more about voter registration and elections. Check your voter registration status now and make sure you’re ready to vote later.

Support Democratic Candidates
The Hingham DTC works to elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
We can be a resource for first time local candidates, host candidate presentations and help staff campaigns with volunteers and funds.
We reach beyond our borders with Post Card parties, phone banking and canvassing. The South Shore Democratic Caucus has a very successful program bringing volunteers from our area to where they are needed most. Our volunteers have traveled to Pennsylvania and Florida and look forward to traveling again.
